Champions League Predictions 4/9/2019

Liverpool vs FC Porto

The magic of the Champions Leagues is back! 8 teams left with a chance to win the title but none of the games from now on will be easily won. Today we have decided to look at Liverpool and FC Porto clash and hopefully give you the right tip for the game.

Liverpool has a huge advantage in the first game today. They are undefeated at home in this tournament and manage to beat teams like PSG and Napoli in the group stage. They eliminated Bayern after 0-0 in the first game at home and for sure they will not want to go through another draw in front of their loyal fans. Liverpool has only one missing player for this game - Andrew Robertson who is suspended for this match but on his place will play James Milner who has enough experience to handle the left wing. Liverpool is the favourite heading into this Champions League quarter-final tie and will have their 5-0 victory over Porto from last season fresh in the memory. Liverpool has only lost one match at home in all competitions this season and nothing but a win here will be a failure.

Porto on the other side is coming in this game with a lot of problems:

  • Pepe Suspended
  • H. Herrera Suspended
  • V. Aboubakar (Injured)
  • A. Telles Doubtful

V. Aboubaka injury is not such a big miss for Porto because the striker has been missing already a few months of the season and the team manage to find a solution for his absence. Soares and Marega will lead the attack of the Portuguese side and for sure they will do their best to put their names in the score sheet. The problems for Porto will come from the defence line where Pepe and Herrera will be the 2 big missing names. If Telles start the game it is not sure how fit he will be for such an important match playing against the new "God of Egypt". Casillas has proved like one of the best goalkeepers in the history of football but today he will be put on a huge test. Can he save Porto? We don't think so. Porto will be out for revenge after failing to score a goal over two legs against Liverpool last year, they may play very rough and try to provoke Liverpool with a lot of technical fouls but at the end, they will need a lot of hard work and luck to leave Anfield with good results.
