South Korea-Mexico World Cup 2018

 SOUTH KOREA

The loss in the first game for South Korea was their second straight loss overall and fourth without a win. They failed to score in their last three games as well and a loss against Mexico will mean an elimination. The game against Sweden was a battle, both teams were playing very high pressure and the defence was the essential part of the game. Unfortunately, South Korea had not a single shot in the goal for the whole game. The ball possession was 47% for the Koreans but in the 65th minute they made a foul in the box and Sweden got a penalty, which Granqvist scored with no problem. Until the end of the game, South Korea tried to put pressure and organized a few attacks on the wings but they failed to create a clear chance in front of the Swedish goal. Against Mexico and Germany, the Koreans will not have many chances to score a goal, but they still can try to play better football and entertain all the football fans. In nine games against Spanish speaking nations at World Cup finals, South Korea has won none in 90 minutes ( 3 draws and 6 losses).

MEXICO

Mexico was the biggest surprise in the first round. They beat the World Champions Germany and bring a lot of joy and happiness to all Mexicans. This was their first win ever against The Mannschaft and it was with style. They were defending perfectly and they counter-attacks were very dangerous, Germany was lucky that they were not punished with more goals. The Germans defence had to block 7 shots.  Against South Korea will be a different game, they will have to attack because the win in the match will qualify them for the next round. Mexico last eight games have interestingly seen only one side score and seven of those eight finished with under 2.5 goals. while they only concede three goals in that time and scoring seven. In their last seven appearances at World Cup finals, Mexico hasn't lost their second game ( three wins and 4 draws).

PREDICTION

Mexico is the better team here, but their win will not come easy. Against Sweden, South Korea demonstrated very organized football with well build defensive line. Same performance Mexico demonstrated against Germany, but they won the game.  These two sides have met once at a World Cup finals, which was in France 1998 when Mexico won with 3-1. Overall, they have met on ten occasions with Meixo winning five, South Korea four(once on penalties) while one was a draw. The stake in this game is too big but we expect Mexico to win and Korea to be eliminated. It will be a very tough game with a lot of tactical plays from both sides and fouls. We think that South Korea will be able to stop Mexico in the first 45th minutes but after that El Tricolor will take the win.

Mexico to win with a clean sheet ( 2 points at 2.25)

Mexico to win and under 2.5 goals (2 points at 3.1)
